🆕BLOG POST UP NOW... highlighting why the YA no one talks about is still important. 👇⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We all have those series we don’t really talk about, the ones that may not change the course of our lives but that we love all the same. 💖⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m talking about the YA that isn’t meant to be “literary” in any way, meaning the writing itself isn’t always the best. ✍️(Obviously, "best" is relative.) Maybe I should just post a monthly Dickinson poem, because they are all so damn good. 🤨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I particularly love the way she tackled mental illness in her poetry... Even though I have no idea what this particular poem is necessarily about, I think the first line is so powerful when it does come to mental illness. 🗣Sharing our stories is brave, but only if we're ready. 📸 Today I’m featuring one of my favorite assignments ever… it happened when I was working for @thetab_unc, the @uncchapelhill subset of the national news company, The Tab! ❤️ A bunch of us somehow got press passes to attend a @hillaryclinton campaign rally on campus in 2016, and look who headlined! 😯 All I can remember was how inspired I felt about politics afterward. President Obama hasn’t visited campus since 2012, but he showed his true Tar Heel pride during his impassioned speech yesterday.
