Hi all. Missed me?
I just wanted to share a quick update… plus I have a favor to ask. (I’m horrible, I know.)
In case you’re new, I stopped blogging during quarantine because:
- I had nothing left to write about! When I first started my blog, I had a list of ideas and things I wanted to share, but that list ran out eventually. I was really happy with everything I posted and felt content stopping at that point.
- There weren’t any more updates on my publishing journey! When I left, I was finishing up my second novel—the first floundered in the querying stage—and knew it was going to take a long time and I wouldn’t have anything interesting to share about it with you guys.
So, where am I now?
Well, I’m (finally) about to get my second novel in the hands of beta readers. It took me basically the entirety of the pandemic so far, but I added a solid 20,000 words—something I never thought possible!
Since the main issue with my first story was also word count, it’s giving me hope that one day I can still manage to get that one out there too.
So, what’s the favor?
Yesterday I entered one of my favorite short stories and a collection of three poems into Something or Other Publishing’s Short Story Contest.
I got a mass email I believe they sent out to anyone with “Author” on their Instagram (lol), and decided why not?
All you have to do for me is go to these links below and vote with your name and email (or a fake name and email that sound legit). I need 25 votes for each to get them to be considered in the contest!
Hope everyone is well and planning to get vaccinated. 😉 Thanks for continuing to support me in my long-ass journey to bookstore shelves.
