Hi all. Missed me?

I just wanted to share a quick update… plus I have a favor to ask. (I’m horrible, I know.)

In case you’re new, I stopped blogging during quarantine because:

1. I had nothing left to write about! When I first started my blog, I had a list of ideas and things I wanted to share, but that list ran out eventually. I was really happy with everything I posted and felt content stopping at that point.
2. There weren’t any more updates on my publishing journey! When I left, I was finishing up my second novel—the first floundered in the querying stage—and knew it was going to take a long time and I wouldn’t have anything interesting to share about it with you guys.

So, where am I now?

Well, I’m (finally) about to get my second novel in the hands of beta readers. It took me basically the entirety of the pandemic so far, but I added a solid 20,000 words—something I never thought possible!

Since the main issue with my first story was also word count, it’s giving me hope that one day I can still manage to get that one out there too.

So, what’s the favor?

Yesterday I entered one of my favorite short stories and a collection of three poems into Something or Other Publishing’s Short Story Contest.

I got a mass email I believe they sent out to anyone with “Author” on their Instagram (lol), and decided why not?
